A strong coastal storm is sizing up Massachusetts for a visit.
We are 5 days out, meaning that this is what they call a Low Possibility Forecast. The storm could blow out to sea for all that we presently know.
The NWS has POTENTIALLY written in ALL CAPS on their forecast, just to reinforce that point.
It is way too early for snowfall totals and for guessing where the rain/snow line will set up. We are sounding the alarm more for coastal residents.
There are astronomically high tides forecast for the weekend. Throw in a storm surge, and the potential for coastal flooding is significant.
Hopefully, it blows out to sea. If not, we did try to give you fair warning.
The fun starts on Friday, and rolls through part of Saturday.
We’ll be back with more info if need be.
